Our teachers were at school this week getting prepared for perhaps the most unique school opening in many decades. It is going to be great, but different. Because circumstances are so unique, there may be some bumps in the road to start. We will overcome obstacles together. At Rondout Valley CSD, we are committed to ensuring the safest possible learning environment for our students and staff during these challenging times. To that end, we implemented a wide range of precautionary measures, including the use of a health screening app that students and staff fill out regularly before coming to school, temperature checks of everyone entering our buildings, mandated mask wearing as medically able, social distancing, hand washing, and rigorous cleaning and disinfecting protocols.

We have been notified today that one High School student tested positive for COVID-19. The student has been engaged in the fully remote 100% off-site learning model. In accordance with the New York State Department of Health Toolkit and guidance from the Ulster County Department of Health, it has been determined that no school related individuals were required to quarantine.
